Why bother?

You know how you can tell that someone is asking you a question and not really listening?...Tell them that you gave birth to a 12.5 lb baby naturally and they say "Oh! Really? Thats nice."

Baby update

I just got back from a long day of doctors visits. I have been having some issues with my blood pressure being high. I went in yesterday to have it checked and actually found out that I have protein spilling into my urine. Combined with the high blood pressure, headaches, swelling, and vision changes this could be a sign of preclampsia.
The doc gave me orders to do a 24 hour urine sample which is really a fun thing to do. I had to catch all my urine for a whole 24 hours and then take it in today. I kept reminding the kids that the big orange bottle in the fridge was not juice. So, I hauled around about a gallon and 1/2 of my pee all day.(I am serious about the amount!)
This morning I had a consultation with a Gynecologist to discuss my options for after delivery to make sure there weren't anymore Reiling babies. He suggests that Dan should have his vasectomy very soon to ensure no future pregnancies. I am all for that and I am pretty sure that Dan is too. I am just worried that if I don't do something as well we will be right back in line to deliver a 5th child. Maybe I am just uncertain because the last procedure didn't work.
After this appointment I had an appointment for an ultrasound because I was measuring 38 weeks and I am only 34 weeks. When we got to the hospital and situated in the ultrasound room I told the tech (who has done ultrasounds for both of the girls and early on with this one) that I did NOT want to know the sex but my Mom could know if she wanted (Dan had to work). Ellie pipes up and says "It's a boy! I know it's a boy!" We get through the test and everything looks great. The baby is weighting in at 6lbs 11ozs and I still have 6 weeks to go! Go figure. We are looking at another 5lbs...so about 12 like Jake and Izzy! Hurray! Can't wait to push this one out!
After the ultrasound I am in going to the bathroom and I hear my Mom ask what the sex was. The tech asked if I had given permission and my Mom said that I said it was alright. I hear the woman say "She was right." Meaning Ellie was right!
When I came out of the bathroom I told them what I had heard and the tech says "I didn't think I was talking that loud!" So, we are having a BOY! I didn't want to know, but now I do and that is alright.
I have to wait until Friday to meet back with my o.b. and see about my protein levels. I am hoping that they are low and don't increase because I don't want to be induced this early. Fingers crossed.

It really bugs me when people call Kittens "Baby Kitty's" or Puppies "Baby Puppies". Ummm Hello!

By the time I have this 4th baby I will be pregnant 80 weeks out of the last 104. Or 18 months out of the past 24. Or 560 days out of the last 730. Or about 77% of the past 2 years.

The Greatest Christmas Gift cannot be purchased in a store or ordered from a catalog; it cannot be wrapped in a pretty package with a fancy bow; but it can be seen in the eyes of a child, heard in the words of kindness, and felt in the embrace of a friend.
At Christmas, I wish for you the precious gift of love.
May your Christmas and New Year be filled with Peace, Happiness, and Love!

I keep hearing a commercial for this on the local radio station. I find it a bit disturbing. Why would you want everything to taste like bacon?

Black Friday

I attended my first Black Friday shopping outing this morning. I would have never gone, but with 3 kids I've got to try to save as much as possible. Mom and I left for the store at 430 and the sale started at 5. The entire parking lot of Walmart was full. But you know there didn't seem to be one bitchy person in the whole store. We spent 2 hours in there. Everyone was very helpful. It was a good experience. I only spent about 120.00 and saved 100.00. I walked out with a whole cart full of stuff. I think I will will be doing it again next year!
